Further, I predict it will be chambered for 5.56 ammo and either that or .223 will be used. This weapon will also have a 16 inch barrel. The folks who aspire to this--and they are out there--will want 30 round magazines as well, since they have proven very reliable. You can walk into Walmart today and buy all of this for less than $1000.
And 3 days after the next one, you will still be able to walk into Walmart and do the same thing. And there will be a next one.

You don't see a whole lot of mass slaughters being committed by guys wielding Winchester Model 70 bolt action hunting rifles. Besides, Model 70's don't look near as badass with black clothing and tactical trimmings, compared to AR15's. Our next few gun-happy psychos need to keep up appearances while stacking up the bodies, don't ya know.
But hey, not to worry: afterwards there will be a moment of silence observed in Congress, and all the flags will be at half-mast, so everything will be OK......
