(27,856 posts)The way he was willing to sign release after release to allow ex-felons to vote said a lot.
I know he's not perfect, but he did a way better job than I'd have imagined and it's too bad he couldn't run again.

(6,045 posts)I sure hope it happens but I also know he has a huge mouth that is known for saying crap that is not true.
...But mostly I have lost all confidence last November! It will take a few elections to get that back!

(4,431 posts)The pukes are more rural. Richmond is @47% AA with @51% white and 3% other. You must thinking about Brat and his district which is close to the capital.

(37,648 posts)It comes amid what looks like a blue wave along the East Coast, with Democrat Phil Murphy also winning the governor's race in New Jersey and a swath of northern Virginia state legislative seats on course to flip into Democratic hands.

(2,523 posts)It looks like it will end up being 50-50. Interestingly, in one seat that went Republican, it did so by only about 10 votes. Getting out the vote really matters. With 10 more votes - out of about 2.4 million - The Democratic party could have taken a majority.
Then the other issue. Of the total Democratic and Republican votes - totalling 2.274 million, 1.3 million were for those candidates in the Democratic Party.
Democratic candidates won 55% of the vote - nearly 10 percentage points more than Republican candidates, but won barely (and only maybe) 50 seats. Thus, each Republican vote is worth about 1.2 Democratic votes. Also, 10 Republicans ran unopposed (23 Democrats).
We need some anti-gerrymandering laws.
