It's been a crappy 12 months, but tonight we start to fight our way back.

I'm sick of the hand-wringing and the general sense of doom. I'm sick of the never-ending soul searching and the constant re-hashing of a primary that ended almost 18 months ago. And most importantly, I'm sick of Donald Trump and the army of deplorable assholes he's brought to power.

I don't know what will happen tonight. I suspect we'll get some big wins, and hopefully more than @some." But regardless of what happens, it's time to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and get back in the damn game.

We had good wins this spring. I think the Democratic Party is doing fine, regardless of challenges SandyZ Nov 2017 #4

is force people to pay attention to local elections. The DNC lost its ground game for state and local elections going back to about 2008. Why we ever abandoned the 50-state strategy will be a perpetual mystery to me.

Getting trounced in state and local elections in 2010 and 2014 is a big reason why we're in the place we are today. And yes, we need to fight everywhere.
