so foul that a democrat just won a seat on his hometown Township Council! Mendham Township hasn't had a democrat on their local governing body since Jesus was in the third grade. One of the most republican towns in one of the most republican counties in the United States just got themselves a democratic representative. Congratulations Amalia Duarte! She worked very hard to win this seat.

(2,419 posts)what a big deal this is. Mendham Township is the most republican of republican towns. I don't think they've elected a democrat in my lifetime. That includes the post-Watergate elections. Democrats were on the ballot all over Morris County and many posted remarkably significant numbers-even where they weren't victorious.

Proud of Dems in both VA and NJ and feeling confident that Doug Jones will do just as well next month.
