Its A Bloodbath In Virginia As Democrats Are Wiping The Floor With Trumps Republicans
Not only did Republicans lose the governors race, but they are also suffering massive losses in the Virginia legislature as Donald Trump has led his party straight into a bloodbath.
Here is how one Republican in Virginia described the election results:

NBCs Chuck Todd who is never one to oversell an election result said of the results in Virginia:

House Republicans were already scared before tonights results, and the fact that only 47 Republicans are leading in Virginia legislative races should only add to their terror. The Democratic tidal wave of 2006 was foreshadowed by a massive win in Virginia in 2005.
What is happening in Virginia is a microcosm of what will happen nationally in 2018 as an enraged electorate is ready to make their voices heard.

(58,778 posts)some of the races are down to the wire. A couple apparently close enough to trigger recounts, and others waiting on absentee/provisional ballots.
