that are being won by Democrats. All sorts of other "downticket" races are being won by them as well.

It's called "building the bench", folks. Let's keep this up.

According to the folks at 538, it'll be days before anything is official.

Regardless of any recounts.

8. What will be particularly interesting
Tue Nov 7, 2017, 11:46 PM
Nov 2017

Will be the total votes for Democratic and Republican candidates

It appears that it will come out at 50/50, but it would be interesting to see how the popular vote split. My guess is that it is about 54/46, meaning that the Republicans have at least 4-5 seats that they should not have.

The Republican party could then find itself on the short end of gerrymandering. However, the very best thing would be to draw districts to be competitive so that we can reduce the impact of extremist candidates.

There were also some districts where the Democrats did not run anybody at all.

We've got a shot to flip the House of Delegates. That's MASSIVE!

When I say "we" I mean Democrats, but although I live in MD, I have a love for Virginia. I was born there and spent my teenage and early 20s in NoVA.
