Great Day! Now Let Me Rain On The Parade A Bit.

While it's great that this is being framed as a fantastic day for Democrats, the reasoning is very troubling to me.

The media keeps coming back to this being an Anti-Drumpf message. That is wonderful, any chance to put something bad on him is welcome. But it would be nice to hear that a larger # of voters are beginning to lose faith in the repub brand, not just the Drumpf brand. A President Pence administration would not have a single idea that we could embrace, it's just that Pence is not the complete & utter Embarrassment that Drumpf is.

Almost everything the repubs stand for is repugnant. I wish more voters would wake up and realize that, although I certainly welcome more days like today, and hope with every fiber, that this momentum carries through to 12 months from now. Mueller's investigation should only help, and ideally it's net is cast over more of the repub establishment than just the inner circle of Drumpf.

were healthcare and guns. It's both anti-Trump and anti- shitty policies.

For dems it was 1) Trumps attacks on federal worker hiring, pay and retirement benefits (big break unusually so in north burbs)
2) Latinos turned out en masse
3) Women voted Dem by 20+ margin and yes, I do think much of that was because of this disgusting garbage in the WH

I have worry in my DNA. Finally the media has a mantra that is favorable to us. Trump is poison, Trump is poison, Trump is poison. He is the face of the Republican Party. No need to be subtle.

4. Trump is Republicanism

And Republicanism is Trump.

This can be spun in many ways, but it comes down to this, people really don't like tRump and they really don't like Repubs.

This ass kicking is happening when job numbers are good, stock market is good. So losses by the incumbent party are to be expected, losses when the economy is good is a very very very very bad sign for Repubs.

Although I don't think the economy is as good as it seems. People have very little savings, and low interest rates have kept housing afloat. Home prices are once again too high for many to afford, and when rates start to go up, I fear a big retraction will hurt many who are too leveraged.

The stock market is good because Corporations are doing just fine and dandy. As are the upper 10%.

6. The Democratic party must

The Democratic party must emphasize that the Republicans, with or without Trump, are against anything that benefits "we the people".

The Republicans want to:
-Destroy the public schools and replace them with private for profit charter schools.
-Close the US Post Office.
-Eliminate Medicaid
-Eliminate Medicare
-Eliminate Social Security
-Eliminate food stamps
-Eliminate health care laws, ie the ACA
-Repeal clean water protections
-Repeal clean air protections
-Repeal workplace protections
-Raise taxes on the poor and middle class
-Lower taxes on the wealthy
-Lower or eliminate taxes on corporations, while giving them huge subsidies.
-Allow anyone, no matter how insane or violent, to own as many guns and whatever type of gun they want.
-Subjugate women and return to the days of back alley abortions
-Eliminate equal rights protections for minorities and LGBT people.
-Start mining and logging the national parks
-Destroy the US government by putting people in charge of the various departments who are opposed to the work of those departments
-Arrest anyone who publicly protests their ideas

I know this sounds extreme, but over the past few years, and especially recently, the Repubs have advocated every one of these things, and more probably. Now is not the time to take it easy and bask in the glory of a few election night victories. Now is the time to call out the Republicans for their evil and destructive policies that will impoverish and kill thousands of Americans if they get their way.
