BREAKING: @electmanka has won the special election for LD45 in the WA Senate, flipping the seat — *and the entire chamber* — from red to blue.

This is the 27th state legislative flip for Democrats in 2017.

Congratulations, Manka!

Ground up. Retake the states we’ve lost terribly in recent years. Undo gerrymandering.

Why is it that people always mention gerrymandering and voter suppression and the electoral college system and every other device and law that can be used to twist and rig the vote but fail to mention the voting machines? The percentage of rigging that the machines account for may not be great (only about 3% around the country on average) but over time the effect of them being regularly rigged (which is happening in every state consistently) is the the Dems have been disappearing. Here in KS the percentage is about 7% according the Jon Simon from Election Defense Alliance <http://electiondefensealliance.org/> because the Repubs have a stranglehold here but it's a fact everywhere in the country and until enough voices are raised TOGETHER and CONSTANTLY reminds people, nothing will happen with the machines.

The vote has to be BOTH verifiable (paper) and verified IN EVERY ELECTION if you want a democracy.

A fair and impartial vote count is absolutely a sine qua non for a democracy. You can't have one without the other.

Believe me the vote is the first thing the brown boots go for. This is how the German democracy was subverted before WWII. And if there is a Nazi anywhere in the world today, it is El Trumpo here in the land of the freely misinformed and the home of the fooled.
