As a vocal performer, he was really spellbinding. I used to enjoy watching him just for the theatrics.

He never came back from that dumb thing.

It’s hard to even think of him as a preacher. I used to call in and get the weird free miracle stuff from him. I got miracle healing water, a magic prayer cloth, and a bunch of other swag. To make it work, you had to send it back with money, but, oh well.

But if one of your transgressions came to Hoover's attention, you'd quickly find out that as easygoing as God is with Jeff, God's death on whatever your special sin is, and Hoover would let you know in no uncertain terms.
