Do you remember the phrase "Don't get cocky kid!"

That was the big take away line from the first Star Wars movie for me.
On this day after elections that have been promising, don't think we have it all covered.
We got lucky! Anti tRump got us a few wins. Enjoy it but take it for what it is.
Now we need to groom and support candidates from the bottom up who will work for the interest of all of us.
I went through this when we needed a replacement for Senator Magic Bullet. Even though there was a great candidate, Fast Eddie & Sen Wall St decided we needed Bob Casey.
Choose good candidates and support them.

there is a large contingent at DU that want to keep to the status quo. I would agree wholeheartedly with you not getting cocky or complacent is the watchword while we try to win big in 2018 and 2020.

laurels we still can't rest on them. The Democratic party is in a very good position because elections in the US are pretty binary and the Republicans have screwed up even worse than was imagined. It is good to celebrate all the victories along the way, but a victory today doesn't mean anything if we lose again tomorrow.

Quote Star Wars correctly or face geek wrath, you will.

Recall that the phrase was said to someone who became a Jedi Master.

to accomplish those wins? They knocked on over a million doors, sometimes two or three times and phone banked until they were hoarse. Last night was accomplished through hard work, there was no luck involved. Stop wagging your finger and lecturing other DUers on what they need to do. We're perfectly aware of what we need to do to win.
