Don't let other's opinions upset you. When something feels off-putting sometimes you can clear it up if you ask the poster a question about their post. I have found this community to be very forgiving and kind. If the post feels like it is not part of our values or is mean or it is not accurate most of us speak up or report it.

Our majority feels the same, but we welcome outliers.

This last election was so tampered with by the Russians that we still can't seem to understand it. The whole world is suffering from Russian mind games attacks. We are still being played so we must be vigilant, but we must also be free and open to those who have their own sensible remarks because we could be sitting on some wrong conceptions ourselves which were fed to us in passing and we did not research them and we just took them in.

We have much more in common and love so many of the same things. This bickering is annoying, but it is also an exercise in communication and understanding each other.

Now, are you a Bernie or Hillary supporter? Just kidding.

Really I like them both for different reasons.

If someone here just wants to fight, they can be ignored.

Or have a discussion with any kindred spirits.

People who just want to fight and be difficult, I put on ignore.

I think a lot of nerves are frayed right now. We can see that in the threads and posts.
Does make it difficult at times.

Laura, I will be happy to debate and discuss any topic you like!
And be kind and nice in the process!

FB, Twitter, etc - are making things far worse because so many don't have to take responsibility for their words.

So although it probably was as bad at this at various points throughout history, we've not been able to see it clearly so well as we can now.

Good points.

I hate it when others wax nostalgic, like "conservatives" do about the 1950s. They invariably see Leave it To Beaver. That supports your claim, I think, about being able to see more clearly now. The world wasn't ever like Leave it to Beaver for many Americans. Geez, the 1950s. Lynchings. Segregation. ...

It was worse at most points in history. You're right.

Still I expect better behavior from liberals. I see us as better in every way and I can't get used to seeing much of the same stupidity from us as I see from "conservatives." I am also hoping and praying (to the extent I pray) for "conservative" implosion and hey they're doing their best to oblige me. There are people on our side emulating their dysfunction.

WTF?

Sorry I need to vent. Thanks for listening.

I think this is easily the most contentious forum I visit.

And God help you if you haven't spent the last 10 years, doing nothing but building a 50,000 post count.

It's all good I guess. Even if it's the equivalent of arguing politics over Thanksgiving dinner.
