And for all of the victims of assault that have recently come forward.
I was struck by how painful it was for Nelson to be interviewed about this assault by Moore. She undoubtedly understood the kind of attacks her testimony would generate. She lives in Alabama, I believe, and she has to face some of these people who would judge her. She is brave.

(3,626 posts)I give her credit for her bravery in telling her very painful story, and I'm glad she is (almost) universally believed. HOWEVER... having experienced her own sexual abuse trauma, how could she and her husband possibly have voted for the Sexual-Abuser-in-Chief? It's not as if that self-admitted info wasn't all over the news. So, as far as I'm concerned, her halo is tarnished.

(616 posts)The effect of a cultural environment is so strong. During the run-up to the election, Clinton was so demonized in places like Alabama, she may have believed that she had no good choices. I give credit where credit is due.

(3,626 posts)I'm just so enraged by the occupant of the WH and those who put him there, I consider them beyond "deplorable." It's hard for me to be all-in empathetic towards them. So, thank you for reminding me. I'll try harder.

(8,133 posts)Her being appalled by that story may have overwhelmed her feelings about the Access Hollywood tape.
This doesn't diminish her courage and the service she has done for our nation and other survivors by coming forward the way she has.
