And thats just one of a host of lies from @Umpire43, whose attempts to discredit Roy Moores accusers went instantly viral in the Trumposphere.

The rightwing blog The Gateway Pundit pushed a single-sourced rumor from an anonymous Twitter account, @Umpire43, claiming that one of Roy Moores accusers was offered $1,000 by The Washington Post to go public with her claims.
That rumor quickly made its way to InfoWars and the top of r/The_Donald, the most active pro-Trump community on the web. The pro-Trump cable station One America News Network even aired the news, citing a "report." But the source for that viral accusation is a serial fabulist who has been using the identity of a Navy serviceman who died in 2007, records show.
Umpire43, also known as Doug Lewis or DJ Lewis, has repeatedly invented stories in the pastparticularly about his own background. Lewis said he was a 22-year veteran of the Navy, a pollster at Ipsos/Reuters, an expert on rigging voting machines, a source who was feet away from Reince Preibus, a man who speaks six languages, a beleaguered soul who needed time off after 9/11 when he saw Muslims dancing on rooftops, the owner of a polling company who claimed Trump had a sustained lead in California, and an actual baseball umpire with 50 years experience. Oh, and he worked at the American consulate in Calgary, where he claimed to obtain proof of a forged birth certificate for Ted Cruzs father.
The Daily Beast spoke with each of the institutions and companies at which he claimed to be affiliated or employed. None of Umpire43s employment or service claims are true, these organizations said.

(2,034 posts)Another one bites the dust...seems like every week one of these fools either gets caught lying about basic info, or goes insane and tries to kill their parents, or something. At some point, don't their followers wonder whether the entire RW ecosystem doesn't run on BS?

(19,240 posts)by its very nature. Anyone who is intelligent or creative will automatically be drawn to the left wing. Only people of mediocre talent attempt to cling to the status quo. i.e become political conservatives. Inevitably, they resort to lies and criminal activity to supplement their meager bag of tricks--think Pat Buchanan and Karl Rove and Roger Stone and now Trump/Putin.
Truly smart people know that it is a lot easier to win friends by promising something new and better than by promising a return to a dreary as shit past. Occasionally, the right can get mileage out of offering to settle old grudges--but all hatred is a form of self hatred, meaning the far right eventually kills itself. Suicide in a bunker is all the "happy ending" the right can imagine---which is why we see so many of them committing suicide by cop nowadays and why the Christian Right is so determined to bring the world to Armageddon in this lifetime. At least the End of Days will free them from their miserable self loathing existence.
