Only four in 10 registered voters believe President Donald Trump is fit for office, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday.
The 40 percent mark is a new low for respondents to the Quinnipiac survey, which asked the same question in September and October. Fifty-seven percent of respondents to the latest poll said Trump is not fit for the office he holds.
While 86 percent of self-identified Republicans said Trump is fit to serve, an overwhelming 93 percent of Democrats said the opposite. And nearly 60 percent of independents agreed with Democrats who said Trump is not fit to serve as president.
Ninety-three percent of people who identify as black and 70 percent of people who identify as Hispanic said Trump is not fit to serve. White voters, however, were largely split on the question of Trumps fitness for office: 49 percent said he is fit; 48 percent said he isnt fit.

(206,853 posts)It says 93% of Democrats and 60% of independents believe he's "not fit to serve." And that number is growing...

(29,110 posts)Still too many...I:m amazed (and disgusted) that Trump can reach as high as 30%, seriously.

(206,853 posts)The thing is, we're paying attention. There are people who never watch the news, just go by what they happen to hear about, and I'm afraid that's a whole lot of people. Though I think the number who disapprove of Trump is growing simply because there is so much coverage, compared to any president we've had, it's almost impossible to avoid hearing about the shitgibbon...
He may have gotten a lot of votes because of the unprecedented media coverage he received during the campaign, but now it's also really tough to avoid hearing about his constant offenses.

(34,661 posts)If their polling is 40%,well a real poll most likely is 29-30%.

(206,853 posts)Despite living in a traditionally Republican area, I don't know anyone personally who can stand Trump. And local Democratic candidates won big here last week. I'm only guessing, but I wouldn't be surprised some of that is a reaction to the odiousness of Trump. The rest is because they were far and away the better candidates.
