and yet there was no move to confiscate his guns.
Neal had been arrested in January for stabbing a woman and robbing another woman, both of who later got a restraining order against him. Johnston said the woman Neal stabbed was killed in Tuesday's rampage. Neal was released on $160,000 bail after that arrest.
Prosecutors also alleged Neal fired a gun - possibly an AR-15 Bushmaster rifle - during the attack, according to court documents. The rifle was specifically mentioned as illegal in a criminal complaint filed earlier this year.

The crazy thing is that the neighbor has been shooting a lot of bullets lately, hundreds of rounds, large magazines, Flint said. We made it aware that this guy is crazy and hes been threatening us.

(14,557 posts)It seams that many of these mass shooters have a criminal history of violence or arrests on their record that should prohibit them from owning a gun. But that information is not put into the database or ignored by authorities.
This guy had restraining orders against him, which by federal law their guns must be removed. The police knew he had guns and did nothing. The guy in Tx church shooting had a conviction that barred him from owning a gun and that info was not put into the database.
The only thing I can come up with is that there are some people who believe anyone's right to own a gun shall not be infringed and they are deliberately not following the law. I would love it if the FBI asked the local police why they did not take his guns after he stabbed someone. Why when neighbors complained that he was firing off hundreds of rounds and he was threatening them.

How does that work?
Maybe she should have shot this guy BEFORE he went on his rampage?
