Stephanie said, rather firmly, "Sir, Ali is from Canada!" The whole interview has been interesting, to say the least.

The local KKKlan Wizzard? Sure as hell sounds like it.

What he is - an ambulance chaser that left West Point and attended a part time, night school, 4 year law college that is unaccredited by the American Bar Association.

Oh - and he’s a racist too.

I saw it live and couldn’t believe what I just saw.

To clarify per comments below: Ali Velshi did not say or do anything to imply he was OK with child marriage or rape. It was all Roy Moore's attorney who implied that Ali Velshi should understand this behavior because of his background. Ali Velshi was shocked and looked infuriated by the comment. He was literally wringing his hands on the desk. I'm sorry that I was not clear on that.

how customs vary in foreign nations (Other nations possibly meaning where dark skinned nationals live). He was implying that because Ali was dark, he must know what goes on in those countries.

I pretty lost my mind about that time, but I think the attorney was going for that old racist belief that people in tropical climates mature earlier, which is why the consent age is lower.

Really, I wasn't following his conversation much, because I was looking at Ali and Stephanie's shocked look.

I'm not sure exactly what the implication was, but it seemed at least that Ali, being of "foreign" heritage, had to be familiar with different customs regarding the age of consent/dating/marriage. It was a startling comment with obvious racial overtones. I really don't think the guy would have said anything like that to a "foreign" person whose last name was Olson or O'Malley.

Since Ali was of Indian descent he should understand arranged teen marriages - so Roy Moore’s asking a mother to date her underage daughter should be no big deal.

Regardless of the direct implication, his racist intent was as plain as the nose on your face. This is not the first time this ambulance chaser has insulted persons of color on national TV. The smarmy fucker is a bigot plain and simple.

And, of course, it was racist as hell. On top of that, it didn't even make any sense. If only foreign brown people understand arranged teen marriages, why was good ol' white guy Roy Moore trying to "date" 14-year-olds?

with the racist implication that even though Moore was identified as a pervert who should be banned from malls back in the 70's, brown people will always be worse. Because brown people are perpetual foreigners in our own country.

That racist dumbass's head will explode when he finds out Ali Velshi didn't have some teenage arranged marriage.
