Roy Moores lawyer suggests MSNBC host Ali Velshi's 'background' should help understand dating teens

An attorney for Roy Moore suggested the upbringing of an MSNBC host would help him “culturally” understand why the embattled Senate candidate allegedly dated teenage girls as an adult.

Trenton Garmon, the Alabama Republican’s lawyer, made the remark about host Ali Velshi when asked about Moore’s vague statements on the alleged relationships.

“If Roy Moore doesn’t remember, how could he say that it's definitively false? And number two, why would he need permission from any of these girls’ mothers if they weren't underage?” Velshi’s co-host Stephanie Ruhle asked.

But instead of directly addressing the issue, Garmon alluded to Velshi’s upbringing.

Or is the argument that pedophilia is all the rage? Cowboys and conmen have shit lawyers.

Edit: We all need to stand up to racism the way Stephanie Ruhle did! I am so pleased with her!

I went upstairs from my office to get a snack. My wife was watching the same interview. We said, exactly at the same time "Did you just SEE that????"

Bizarre doesn't begin to cover it.
