Senator George Mitchell said this decades ago, and it is still true.

But, I guess, not true enough to make it stop.

Perhaps we can call it golden-shower economics to be more descriptive of what is happening. Or "shit-rolls-down hill" economics.

The near-religious view that ultimate good is to send money skyward: as much as possible, as fast as possible, as high as possible. Any impediment, any bottleneck, anything that slows that process down is an anathema. Call those impediments Liberalism, socialism, even communism, but any constraint on maximized profit is a threat to The Way Things Ought To Be.

After all, it’s not “redistribution” if you call it “maximized profit” and “dividends”, right?

There is no trickle down, there's just paying interest on what the billionaires steal as they loan it back to us to cover the deficit their thievery creates!

"Trickle down" is already supposed to be a pejorative for "supply side" economics. But if we need another one, GHW Bush called it voodoo economics, and it became known as Reaganomics, and during that time we went from the worlds largest creditor nation to the worlds largest debtor nation.
