Special Counsel sends wide-ranging request for documents to Justice Department

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team investigating whether President Donald Trump sought to obstruct a federal inquiry into connections between his presidential campaign and Russian operatives has now directed the Justice Department to turn over a broad array of documents, ABC News has learned.
In particular, Mueller's investigators are keen to obtain emails related to the firing of FBI Director James Comey and the earlier decision of Attorney General Jeff Sessions to recuse himself from the entire matter, according to a source who has not seen the specific request but was told about it.
The latest move suggests the Special Counsel is still actively digging into, among other matters, whether Trump or any other administration official improperly tried to influence an ongoing investigation.
Who is laughing now, Sessions?! Hee hee.

In Russia or otherwise?
The idiom six ways from Sunday means in every way possible, having done something completely, having addressed every alternative. Six ways from Sunday seems to have its origins in the middle eighteenth century as the phrases both ways from Sunday and two ways from Sunday.

(29,585 posts)Do you know what "a horse a piece" means? It's the same as "six of one half a dozen of another." Comes from a dice game played in bars, only people from Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan say it.

(29,585 posts)Eight seems to have more of a sexual connotation. I'm too for more that two ways from Sunday. Sad.

(7,768 posts)It seems he's disappeared and he's been really quiet lately. Not the TV/media, and attention whore he's always been.
That's quite quite a departure from his normal m.o. of shooting his mouth off and being an arrogant and smug braggart.
Man, I hope Mueller's got him sweating in a room somewhere pissing himself.

(3,060 posts)I just wish they could turn a little quicker in this case. I'm just not sure how much more of this idiot our country and Constitution can take. And I still think the best way out of this is him having a heart attack or stroke or something. (C'mon, CIA...we know you've got it in you!) If he resigns, is impeached, or is somehow "hounded" out of office (in other words, he throws a temper tantrum and quits) his lunatic followers will burn this country down. But if he dies in office, they can turn him into a martyr.

(9,426 posts)I want him and his worthless family in PRISON. That is where they belong. Justice is long overdue for all the workers they have screwed out of paychecks. All the small businessmen they used, then declared bankruptcy to avoid paying. I want them penniless and their brand destroyed.

(3,060 posts)that was my original wish, and still is a favorite fantasy. I'd love to see him, his entire worthless family, and every person he ever appointed, or had anything to do with his campaign and "presidency", frog marched out of The White House in handcuffs. I'd love that, and am willing to bet that picture would be hanging in MANY American homes. But right now, I just want them gone, and I don't care how. My fondest wish is that he'll quit or something, and Mueller will continue his investigation, uncover his slime/crime trail and lock them all up anyway.

(22,976 posts)Like any cult, information is controlled. With Trump & Co shouting fake news every five minutes, and with the usual accomplices (Fox, Breitbart, Rush, et al, plus Russian input), there is now exists an alternate reality. They reject real reality, (some do knowingly, to manipulate; others are true believers) and will likely fight fang and claw to avoid being pulled back into it.
Weve already see hard pushback in the Roy Moore situation not long ago, his history would have destroyed his candidacy; today, the Republican cult sees him as a beleaguered patriot under attack from the left.
One things certain: we cannot continue to survive as a country if the slippage is allowed to continue much longer. It already feels like the U.S. is a Russian satellite state, with a dictatorial administration sending wealth upstream to the oligarchy.
Lets hope that a solid majority of Americans will reject this intolerable attack on our ideals. There are signs thats beginning to occur, with some electoral victories and #45s sinking approval numbers.
