By Jason Easley on Mon, Nov 20th, 2017 at 11:11 am
Democrats are getting set to unleash a series of ads that will make Republicans pay a heavy price for supporting the tax cuts for the rich scam.
Greg Sargent of The Washington Post reported, Democrats are set to go up on the air with a seven-figure TV ad buy targeting House Republicans in multiple districts with a lot of working-class whites as well as in districts with more college-educated whites, Ive learned. The animating idea is that the GOP tax proposals which will be featured in the ads are likely to prove toxic among both those constituencies and particularly among those working-class whites who switched from Barack Obama to Trump.
Here is an example of the ad:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=_y4FbKfUawo
The ad is designed to target those working-class white voters in swing congressional districts who may have voted for Obama but were fooled by Trumps populist rhetoric in 2016. There is an important dot that needs to be connected in the minds of voters. Not only will the Republican tax plan raise their taxes and cost them their health insurance, but it also triggers a $25 billion yearly cut in Medicare.
By passing this tax cut scam, Republicans handed Democrats a political gift, but it is vital that they translate the message to voters in an understandable way. Trumps election has brought the Democratic Party into alignment with the mood of the rest of the country. Democrats are angry. Voters are angry. It is ironic that the culture of rage that Trump was able to cultivate in 2016 is being turned against the President and his own party.
The House is there for the taking in 2018, and Democrats are putting together the right message to turn feelings into votes next November.

Here is where you can contribute:
in Tax Cuts for Millionaires, Billionaires, and Wealthy Corporations
In early November, Congressional Republicans released a bill that would give massive tax cuts to the rich and wealthy corporations. The cuts for the already-wealthy would come on the backs of seniors with fixed incomes and those who can least afford them. The last thing we need is for the tax code to be even more rigged in favor of millionaires, billionaires, and corporate insiders. Instead, we need to fight for a tax code that makes the economy work better for working families. Republicans' desires to cut taxes for corporations will undermine our commitment to public education, job training, Medicare, and Medicaid, and make it impossible to invest in the middle class.
Take the Pledge
I pledge to oppose any effort to cut taxes for the wealthy and well-connected. Not one penny in tax cuts for millionaires, billionaires, and wealthy corporations.

(11,171 posts)The "cuts" for them go away over a few years but the ones for the millionaires/billionaires stay in place (unless changed).
I don't even want to get started on elimination of the estate tax. Total BS.

(70,394 posts)i think this has to do w them keeping it within rules that allow them to pass w a simple majority. only so much the projected bill can raise the deficit. so they faze out the cuts, and it doesnt count.
voodoo math.

here's the math :
at a cheap $1000/hr x 15hrs/day x 5 = $75,000/wk x 1200 stations rw talk radio is worth $18MIL/day or 390MIL$ /month or 4.68 BIL$/ year FREE for coordinated global warming denial, pro republican free market deregulation and wall st think tank propaganda, swiftboating of good citizens, attacks on public education and teachers, passing voter suppression legislation, trying to repeal obamacare, and the hate and fear used to get people to vote republican.
not only do dems ignore that, and start all political efforts that far down, we don't complain or protest the fact that 100s of the loudest of those stations, including 257 limbaugh stations, depend on hundreds of 'liberal' universities and pro sports teams to keep broadcasting sports on them. without those association that whole propaganda operation would fall apart.
