(48,140 posts)Hard to believe he could get through an actual book.

(11,843 posts)The odds that he actually read them are pretty long.
I doubt his attention span is long enough to make through an entire movie - reading the book? Impossible.

(48,140 posts)And could actually read a book, or parts of it.
We don't know how much of what were are seeing is his dementia.

(4,533 posts)Trump understands why people voted for Hitler and southern populists like George Wallace. Hes using them as his models.

(51,674 posts)learned to manage it. I taught elementary school and had to get a special credential for teaching students with special learning needs. This included the extremely gifted, those with learning disabilities, etc. A fellow teacher who was older and more experienced teacher had ADD (NOT ADHD, there is a difference). I also have it and manage it. NOT reading books is common and something someone who has it does. I find that I can only read magazine articles. If I do read a book it must be very interesting to me, must be non fiction, can be read out of sequence, provides bits of information, and can be re-read easily from the middle of any given page or paragraph. NOT reading a book from cover to cover is not a sign of intelligence or comprehension. I could read the same paragraph 4 times and not remember what it said but I could also remember it word for word for 20 years if it was of interest to me.
The Fucking Moron may have ADD or ADHD but that isn't a sign of overall intelligence. Look at the BIG picture with him. Look at what he says and does. I read that his first wife Ivana said he kept a book of Hitler's speeches on his nightstand. I can believe that he DID read the speeches. They are of interest to him personally and they are not long and can be read in bits and pieces for it to filter into his so called brain.

(16,829 posts)but I do know he appears to have zero intellectual curiosity and he thinks he already knows everything that he needs to know.
I think most people becoming president would be overwhelmed by the sense that there is a lot that they need to learn. Trump, not so much.
BigmanPigman
(51,674 posts)does have ADHD due to his inability to focus. His overall lack of intellect is a whole different ball game. He is a Fucking Moron and and Idiot with or without possibly having ADHD. If he had been in my class I can guarantee that I would've remembered him. Teachers can spot a "bad seed" a mile away.
I doubt that tRump has ever read an entire book of any consequence...

(16,913 posts)Those who read possess a vocabulary that trandscends many topics as to how words are used. Intellectual curiosity is one of the by products of reading. Levels of Education also is on display.
At most, Donald Trump lacks intellectual curiosity. His level of education is elementary at best, as is his lack of command of English grammar.

(12,448 posts)so he probably can't focus enough to read a paragraph, let alone a book.
His voice has no affect when he's reading a teleprompter. Apparently the only way he can get through it is to just robotically say the words, with no meaning.
