This is not the Onion.
The asshole wants to kill Trump.
And says he would "for the safety of humanity."
I mean, how big of an asshole does a guy have to be to be music star nowadays?

(5,319 posts)...always thought the music was very depressing and boring.
But, in fairness to Morrissey, the singer was presented with a hypothetical question by the Der Spiegel interviewer, involving a magic button that would Terminate Twitler instantaneously.
Morrissey answered that he'd push the button.
I don't think he's thinking about killing the Orange Menace, or involved in any plots to bump off Donnie Two Scoops.
Nor is he encouraging others to do so.
That's what I got from the article, sorry for the spoilers.

(86,963 posts)Seems he was asked a leading question and his response is being sensationalized for attention. The attitude of the headline makes it sound as if the guy is actively plotting to kill the orange menace, which he is not. So why is this spreading about as if Morrissey is plotting something?

(16,888 posts)I even was at a party where that was discussed and most if not all agreed with Morrisseys statement and saying very clearly if given a choice for saving humanity that they would. I doubt the Secret Service will bother to ban Morrissey's concert this Thursday in Washington DC or to even interview him. Doing so will likely just have that conversation start going here in US too at gatherings.
But I would suggest to the Secret Service that is a very sane statement by a rational mind answering a difficult question if people had to answer in light of what is going on. Many Germans asked themselves that about Hitler and maybe wouldn't have answered it honestly had they been asked that very question in the 1930's out of fear of arrest or worse. But if the Secret Service wants to question people here in US, asking that question and were concerned about people answering that question and saying "yes", I would suggest to them it is a sane answer and if their assignment is to worry about the safety of the POTUS, they shouldn't worry about sane people answering that question saying yes (there would be too many saying yes if being honest), but rather the persons who wouldn't say yes, or that has other reasons and motives.
Or the bigger question I wish the Secret Service would ask themselves is one about the sanity of Trump and worry about that more.
