If you favor CNN OR Fox and are not dismayed by this, you may now be numb and no longer capable of outrage. Scary if that’s our new normal.

Gen Michael Hayden
@GenMhayden
If this is who we are or who we are becoming, I have wasted 40 years of my life. Until now it was not possible for me to conceive of an American President capable of such an outrageous assault on truth, a free press or the first amendment.

That a man who spent decades in the military, earning over two dozen awards and decorations, and served another decade in the intelligence community, fears all of his years of service could come to be for nought in the Trump era is nothing short of frightening.

The press that Trump so snidely derides has proven itself to be far more crucial to the security of this country and its citizens than Trump ever has, or likely ever will.

While that might have been the start of it, once in office he's decided that it's in his own best interests to continue to pander to the lowest denominator. He'll ride this out as long as he's showing a profit, financial or emotional, then dump it like a failing casino or aging wife.

Hilllary won 3 million (approximately) more votes than Trump. But those 3 million or so votes were in states like California, and we who live in those states are cheated in the presidential elections.

Just say no to the electoral college.

One person, one vote. Why not?

We amended our Constitution to give freed slaves and then women the vote. Why not amend it to give Californians, Texans, Floridians, New Yorkers and others in populous state, an EQUAL vote?

Got their ignorant, evil agenda to be a reality. I bet most of us thought it would not really ever happen. Not in America. We didn't want him, and we knew it would be bad, but no one knew it could be this bad.

Part of thr Kochs just bought Time magazine, which has been good at calling Dotard out. Next, it may be the NYT.

I Hope Mueller Safari becomes a reality. Most Repubs think it is a plot by Hillary. I'm afraid their reaction will be the same as it was to the Hollywood Access Tapes. This time they are prepared though, instead of shocked. Anyway, Dotard says it was fake now. He and the people who believe him are batshit crazy.

The world outside the USA does NOT depend on CNN international for most of its information about the USA, but rather correspondents of their own news media stationed in the USA.

If it's a correspondent from a country with controlled news, then their correspondents will report what they are told to report. I remember when the head guy for TACC (the Soviet "news" agency), Igor Ignatiev (the KGB guy, not the artist of the same name), tried to recruit my dad to work for them. Their offices were on the same floor of the National Press Building in Washington. My dad told him politely to fuck off, and Igor said, OK, I had to try. He wasn't exaggerating, either. It was not an initiative, it was an order. He HAD to try. Igor was a perfectly pleasant guy to talk to, but his job was what it was. Same goes for Fox Noise. Their instructions are NOT to report news as factually as they can, but to report what they are told. They are to put the proper slant on what they report or stay silent.

But correspondents from countries like England, France, Germany, Japan, etc., even if they work for government-sponsored news, are under no instructions other than to be as factual as possible. It is from sources like these--BBC, AFP, DPA, etc etc--that Europeans get almost all their news, including about America. If they report what Trump says word for word, and it makes him come across as an absolute ass, that is not fake, and it is certainly not the doing of CNN.

The BBC news is actually an awesome news source even here in the US.

During the high-campaign days of last year, I would frequently turn on the BBC news which we get on our cable. BBC was reporting stuff about Trump that the US news sources weren't. I wish I could think of a specific example but right now I can't. Suffice it to say that the US news outlets weren't giving a "fair and balanced" reporting about Trump last year. Whatever they do this year doesn't make up for it either. They were all asleep on the job last year.

I used to get Deutschewelle on my cable too, but it's no longer offered. I changed my cable subscription so it's probably my fault. Most Americans don't realize how narrowly focused our news outlets area.
