Malloy Writes Time Op-Ed: 'Mike Pence Knew What He Was Doing'

Source: Hartford Courant

Gov. Dannel P. Malloy wrote an op-ed for Time.com, posted on the site a day after he took a stand against an Indiana law he called discriminatory toward gays and lesbians by banning government-funded travel to the Midwestern state..

About the events surrounding the passage of Indiana's religious reform act, Malloy wrote:

"The law is disturbing, disgraceful, and outright discriminatory. Governor Mike Pence knew what he was doing. He knew this legislation would allow discrimination against American citizens. He signed it anyway."

1. Dan Malloy does not get much love from his own party.

I voted for him twice. He is cleaning up a long term fiscal mess that jailbird Rowland and airhead Rell never bothered to deal with.

3. Not to brag, but I estimate that I made over 5000 phone calls for him during the first campaign...

...he was such a refreshing change to what we saw in the past two decades. It was a nail-biter election night (and the two weeks after) but so glad he pulled it out.

As you point out, he cleaned up all the messes that the felon and the nitwit created, and we're in a much better situation now than under those two clowns.

BTW, it's been "reported" (by SOTS Bysiewicz) that during her administration, Rell worked less than 10 hours....not a week, but a MONTH!

Everyone from Biden on down should be talking about how every single republican thinks just like Pence.

Mike Pence signed that discriminatory legislation to get the attention of the Religious right wing Conservatives across the country because of his plan (perhaps) to enter into the Republican Presidential race. He has already gotten praise from other Repuke hopefuls like Ted Cruz. So now that he has the Right wingers attention even if he backs off and signs on to a revised bill he is still in the minds of the Reich Wing Holier than Thou Republican's
So its the eye on the pie that got Pence to do this.

6. If you saw Malloy's appearance on CNN, Carol Costello asked him about Cruz, Rubio, Paul, etc....

....supporting Indiana's law.

He said (not exact words, but very close) "If they believe that, then they're not qualified to be President of the United States"!

As for Pence's motive? It REALLY backfired, if he had any Presidential aspirations they went up in smoke this weekend.

9. No question per "if he had aspirations" - those are part of why he acted

but in the bubble of rw religious politics - while blocking out others - so all he herd was the echo chamber - he unwittingly - but willingly put the match to his Presidential aspirations.

It's all about VOTES.

He knows we limp-wristed liberals won't vote for him. He knows the LGBT folks won't vote for him.

He's trolling for the rightwing, Teahadist, biblethumper vote as well as for the right-leaning independents who may be swayed by his anti-LGBT message.

This obsession with the private lives of other people is so damn batshit crazy to me I will never understand it. They can use their Bible all they want to try to justify their hatred, they are on the losing side of history as always.

They seem obsessed with where everyone's vagina and penis is, at all times. If it weren't so dangerous it would be hilarious.
