(50,567 posts)It's not that they want to be fabulously wealthy, or outrageously wealthy.
The truly Filthy Rich have two traits in common.
They never want to pay for ANYTHING. If they must pay for something, they want to pay less for it than the person who has it now did.
And they demand that a certain percentage of the populace live in the worst kind of poverty imaginable.
The sickest part of it all: you don't have to be rich to be Filthy Rich.

Huffington Post: Banks Launder Billions of Illegal Cartel Money While Snubbing Legal Marijuana Businesses
This sums up the gross hypocrisy of our "justice system"--an individual selling a few grams of drugs can face decades in prison, while a group of people that tacitly allow -- and profit from -- the trade of tons, escape incarceration.

(24,342 posts)I saw Ricci and thought of the actress Christina Ricci -- who was great in Sleepy Hollow and both Addam's Family movies
As to the actual story, one year in prison is too short. I don't care how old she is. She's been profiting off her illegal activities for longer than a year. And the fine is a drop in the bucket.
Until these stingy uber wealthy twits start getting real jail time, they are not going to stop
