Obama not planning to endorse Clinton in primary campaign

Source: AP

Barack Obama isn't planning to endorse his former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton for president any time soon.

White House press secretary Josh Earnest says the president is staying out because other friends of his may also run. Although Earnest didn't mention any one by name, that could include Vice President Joe Biden, who is mulling whether to enter the race.

...snip...

Earnest says it's up to Democratic voters to choose their presidential nominee. But he says the nominee can be confident they will have the president's support.

But news nevertheless.

Particularly the explicit example of the VP.

the Democratic Party into Obama vs. Clinton supporters, they are hoping to make a non-issue into yet another phony story about how Clinton and Obama hate each other.

It is absolutely customary and the right thing to do for a president to stay out of primary politics. And every single president has done so in the past.

I'm not tired of Hillary or any other candidate per se, what I'm tired of is the pettiness and "gotcha" mentality of the media and the small minded people who are obsessed by every minutiae that is shoveled down their throats. Ooohhh, Obama didn't endorse Hillary yet. Oooohhh, she's driving to IA instead of flying there. Is she pandering to the masses? Ooohhh, she plans to raise oodles of money before election day (unlike the Republicans, I assume), etc., etc., etc.

The whole thing is a dog and pony show. None of these vultures in the media are truly interested in what's good for the country. It's all about ratings.

...not even MSNBC. They are no better. Chris Matthews is scum, and it's going to get worse as we go forward.

To the anti-Hillary brigade in the Corporate Media, their plan may even backfire. Folks may start to like and support Hillary even more, the more she's beat up in the Corporate Media, especially if they are applying double standards and not holding the Republicans to the same level of scrutiny.

Only those who are gullible will be lured; in other words, the more they bring up Benghazi and people believe that something nefarious occurred, those people may be tricked, but if she plays this right, it may work to her advantage.

She's really caught. Support it with all its flaws and get his endorsement. Or fail to support it and lose Obama's enthusiastic endorsement during the general election.

before the primary. It is traditional. Many Democratic organizations do not endorse candidates before the primary, no matter what the election. Some even have this written into their bylaws.

If this is news, there must be nothing else going on today.
