Lindsey is on my short list of current and former Members of Congress to be implicated in the emerging Boyfuckergate scandal, along with Cantor, Shadegg, Doolittle, Hastings, and Boehner. Even if he's not a ped, his cozy relationship with the Republicans who are will surely invite scrutiny into his very, very gay-looking life.

http://www.charlestoncitypaper.com/charleston/is-lindsey-graham-gay/Content?oid=1111370

I don't want to revive this ugly debate, but I strongly contend that when a closeted gay politician tries to take away the rights of gay people for political points, that person's sexuality very much is a political issue worthy of public speculation and discussion.

Because like you I believe that a person's private life should stay as just that.

But this guy has spent his political career denying equal rights for LGBT community and that just pisses me off. It pisses me off at the same level as 'Michelle Duggar making robocalls saying how Transgenders are a danger to our children and then finding out that her eldest is a pedophile' level of pissed off. And FYI - that really pissed me off because of how my hypocrisy is involved in that!

I have absolutely no care if the world if we elect a President who is gay but I have a serious challenge electing one who could be a closeted gay who wants to take away the rights from law-abiding citizens of this country. The LGBT community is not asking for special privilege - they just want the same exact rights that the rest of us have here in this country. Is that too much to ask?

But, as I'm sure we would both agree, Graham is an excoriable sociopath whose trail of destruction through Congress has tainted millions of lives. He has deliberately made sexuality a political issue, and has sought to take away the rights and freedoms of our citizens purely for political gain, against his own sexual inclinations, which is simply disgusting.

So. Fuck. Him.

Graham's public implosion and the permanent destruction of his reputation and legacy is far more important than any privacy he retains, which is scarcely any thanks to his own legislative decisions.

Further, even if he is gay, then it's still wrong to use homophobic hate speech to attack him. That kind of regressive bullshit has no place here.

Attack him for his hypocrisy, if he is shown to be a hypocrit. But an attack on his orientation is an attack on that orientation, rather than upon Graham.

Mon Jun 1, 2015, 04:37 PM

snip
We worked for years to see these reactors approved and I’m very pleased this long-sought goal has finally been achieved. The construction of two new reactors will be an over $10 billion dollar project and represents one of the largest investments in South Carolina history.----Lindsay Graham

Two weeks later, when Graham’s “Team Graham” Senate campaign committee filed its quarterly lobbying disclosure form, just one name appeared. SCANA Corporation, the committee revealed, had given the Graham $54,575 in bundled campaign contributions between January 1 and March 31 — raising money for him as he worked to secure their $10 billion project.
The Center for Responsive Politics ranks SCANA as Graham’s second-biggest source of campaign donations, dating back to his 1994 House of Representatives camapign. According to their tabulations, he received at least $37,725 from SCANA’s political action committee and at least $67,380 from SCANA employees over that time. Their support for Graham was relatively cheap, compared to the $260,000 the company reported spending on federal lobbying in the first quarter of 2012 alone. snip

http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2012/05/01/474499/lindsey-graham-love-nuclear/

Over 40 years and more, we've been able to shut down this dangerous nuke industry that STILL has nowhere to put the rad waste so highly radioactive fuel rods are sitting in pools in our cities "temporarily"---for 40+ years! You can count on a Fuku-type disaster there. And now it's Lindsay Graham proclaiming the new nuke renaissance. Another Big Clown for the KKKlownKar.

This quote alone (in a thinking society) should prevent anyone from voting for him:

“Just because a couple people on the Supreme Court declare something to be ‘constitutional’ does not make it so. The whole thing remains unconstitutional. While the court may have erroneously come to the conclusion that the law is allowable, it certainly does nothing to make this mandate or government takeover of our health care right.”

Greed and selfishness do not mess with the ideas of fairness, justice for all, and helping the downtrodden. Libertarianism is the childish fantasy of severely crappy people. It does not jive with Democratic politics or the aspirations of liberals and progressives.

30. POLITICO: Lindsey Graham, in announcing White House run, gets personal
Mon Jun 1, 2015, 11:38 AM
Jun 2015
CENTRAL, S.C. — He’s spent a third of his life in Congress and is a fixture on the Sunday morning news show circuit, making nearly 70 appearances in the last five years.

But as he announced his presidential bid Monday here in the tiny town where he grew up, Lindsey Graham sought to knock down the idea that he’s a creature of Washington and instead told a personal story that’s largely been overlooked over the course of his two decades in the House and Senate.

It’s the tale of a son of pool hall owners, who grew up near-impoverished in the back room of his parents’ bar. As a college student he raised, and eventually adopted, his little sister after their parents died, before going on to have a career as an Air Force lawyer and then rising to become South Carolina’s senior senator.

“Those of you who’ve known me a long time know I had some ups and downs as a young man,” he said. “I lost my parents, and had to struggle financially and emotionally…There are a lot of so-called ‘self-made’ people in this world. I’m not one of them. My family, friends, neighbors and my faith picked me up when I was down, believed in me when I had doubts. You made me the man I am today.”

Lindsey Graham has done enough in his POLITICAL career to criticize, are not-so-hidden gay comments really necessary too?

Isn't that what republicans and Fox News do? Aren't we better than this?
