In a letter to the NHGOPs executive committee, obtained by WMUR.com, Horn stopped just short of blatantly calling on Guinta to resign, but she came close, writing: It is clear that (Guintas) credibility has been irreparably damaged. I hope that Frank can recognize this and act accordingly.
I have done everything possible to make sense of all of this, Horn wrote. But I have come to the conclusion that I simply cannot believe him anymore. Today, I contacted congressman Guinta to inform him that he has lost my trust and I believe that his actions are beneath the honor of his office.
Horns letter of condemnation comes after Sen. Kelly Ayotte reiterated her call for Guinta to step down on Wednesday. She has been joined by other top elected Republicans -- House Speaker Shawn Jasper, state Senate President Chuck Morse and Executive Councilor Chris Sununu.
(Update But the controversy has continued to split the party. WMUR.com has learned that shortly after Horn's letter was emailed to committee members, party Vice Chairman Bryan Gould resigned his post.
