Glenn Beck: 10,000 Pastors 'Willing to Die' Resisting Anti-Christian Persecution

Source: Right Wing Watch & People for the American Way

Beck said society is about to collapse and America needs passionate pastors who are willing to give up their lives if necessary in the fight against the coming persecution of Christians. Fortunately, the Black Robe Regiment that he and David Barton established a few years back has managed to cobble together at least 10,000 pastors who are willing to do just that.

"The number in the Black Robe Regiment is about 70,000 now," Beck said. "The number that I think will walk through a wall of fire, you know, and possible death, is anywhere between 17,000 and 10,000. That is an extraordinary number of people that are willing to lay it all down on the table and willing to go to jail or go to death because they serve God and not man." Garlow was in complete agreement, saying that the necessity of being willing to die is "honestly where we are."

"We've come to that moment," he said. "People like you and me and, thank God, many others are digging in very deeply and laying the benchmark of where we're going to stand on these issues.""You're going to see these 10,000 to 20,000 pastors begin to stand up," Beck promised, "and say 'it doesn't matter if I lose my church, it doesn't matter if I lose my building, it doesn't matter if I lose my life, I will not sit down!'"

All they have to do is to enlist to go fight ISIS. Then the Fundamentalist Christian wanna-be martyrs can fight the Fundamentalist Muslim wanna-be martyrs. Wall off the region, let them kill each other, and let God sort it out. Big win for the rational rest of us.

To their religious domination. Another DUer referred to it as "Maria Law" rather than the Sharia Law the right wing nuts are constantly warning us about.

As a non-believer in any religion I wish all these religious fundamentalists would go out and fight each other to the death and clean the Earth of their hypocrisy.

I highly doubt he actually believes 90% of the stuff that comes out of his mouth. He's a psychopath who was lucky to be in the right place at the right time, and saw a window of opportunity. He saw how willing Fox News watchers were to believing anything as long as it was said with enough sincerity and passion (faked or not). Especially that far-right segment that is afraid of its own shadow and is open to any and all suggestions about enemies, and danger, and impending doom.

So he went all in. He went for the fringe of the fringe. I'm sure some of his avid listeners think Fox News is a liberal network. He cornered the market in loonieville. Christians, sincere ones, are highly gullible to suggestion. Especially ones that cater to their sense of persecution and ostracization.

... just hold their breath until they turn blue.

Ever wonder why this particular issue has all of these loony fundies in such a lather? Jesus never said one word about gay anything. There are way more admonitions about left-handedness in the Old Nonsense Testament (where we go to pick and choose this and that to get pious about) than there are about gayness.

What has these folks are all worked up IMHO is that FACT that most people have softened their position on gayness because most people realize that gay people are BORN THAT WAY and it scares the fundies that if you believe that, you might find other "truths" in the bible that really are not true.

And we can't have that.

Just like in the days when racial segregation was justified by the bible thumpers, they don't know it but they are soiling their own nest, the more they throw a fit about this the more people wake up to the fact that these people aren't about god, they are about their own personal prejudices.
