Jeb Bush's Security Team Booted Latin Group From Speech, Leaders Claim

Source: Miami New Times

A band of five farm workers and their seven children from Polk County woke up before sunrise on Monday. They then drove over 200 miles to Miami Dade College, just in time to witness Jeb’s presidential announcement.

But that never happened, because an hour before Jeb went on, his security team informed the group they would have to leave the venue. Why? Because they “might be a threat to security.”

That's what Natalia Jaramillo, a spokesperson for the Florida Immigrants Coalition, tells New Times at least. Jaramillo was seated with the group and says they were booted possibly because of their matching shirts.

“They targeted any group that looked like an immigrant group with no other reason or explanation than saying they had a yellow t-shirt,” Jaramillo says. “The children wore green t-shirts, the adults yellow and [security] asked to take out everyone who had on a yellow t-shirt.”

The GOP does not care about them.

This is no surprise.

I know Cuban's tend to vote GOP because of the Kennedy/Cuba association,
but the GOP's core values are not the same as the Latino/Hispanic core values.

Again, this is not surprising that a GOP candidate would kick out immigrant looking peoples!

His Republican supporters showed the true racist colors of the rank and file of his constituency. Much or Florida is a racist hell hole just as bias as parts of Mississippi. It just baffles me why any minority would vote for or claim to be a Republican. When I see minorities on TV supporting those who actually hate them I am at a loss.

The Young American Dreamers (YAD) is a youth organization based in Polk County, Florida. YAD membership varies from elementary school aged children to college aged young adults. They do volunteer community service throughout the local area and help other groups and non-profit organizations. At times some political action is taken seeing how certain legislative decisions affect our youth, neighbors, and families. YAD members have traveled from Miami, FL to Washington, D.C. to take part in rallies, marches, and demonstrations to support the group’s ideals and show members firsthand how democracy works.

I did not follow the thread closely enough. Of course I agree that being singled out is wrong. As for wondering why they were there, I think that the answer to that is part of the reason they were kicked out. IMHO, they wanted to keep Immigration Reform as part of the conversation and Bush did not.

All they have to do is fake polls and pay off the media. Same playbook as always. We just have to get so many registered voters that they can't get away with cheating again. It didn't work for them in 2008 or in 2012.

57. Jeb Bush Listed Himself as ‘Hispanic’ on Voter Form
Wed Jun 17, 2015, 08:04 AM
Jun 2015

According to the Florida Division of Elections, the application requires a signature because the voter is swearing or affirming an oath.

The New York Times obtained Mr. Bush’s application from the Miami-Dade County Elections Department. Florida law requires that the signature, driver’s license number and Social Security number be redacted before such a document is publicly released....

Democrats were quick to criticize Mr. Bush for the error.

Albert Morales, the Democratic National Committee’s Hispanic outreach director, said that Mr. Bush was “out of step” with Latinos, and the Florida Democratic Party suggested that he might have committed a felony.

56. "JEB, The Latino candidate!“
Wed Jun 17, 2015, 07:41 AM
Jun 2015
From beginning to end, Bush’s campaign kickoff bore the stamp of Miami’s Latin flavor. Salsa music intermittently played as guests took their seats in the gymnasium of Miami Dade College in the suburb of Kendall.

The Chirino Sisters — the three daughters of Latin crooner Willy Chirino — took the stage and sang three songs, two in Spanish. And Chirino, a Cuban exile, briefly contrasted the lack of democracy in Cuba with the 2016 presidential race. Bush’s son, Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush, briefly spoke in Spanish as did the candidate toward the end of his announcement.

“As a candidate, I intend to let everyone hear my message, including the many who can express their love of country in a different language,” Jeb Bush said in English, transitioning to Spanish as he called on people to have a campaign that “welcomes” people and emphasizes our “shared values [and] the cause of all who love freedom, the noble cause of the United States.”

Bush has backed a pathway to residency — or citizenship in some cases — for some undocumented immigrants. But he was briefly interrupted by a group of pro-immigration activists, wearing neon-lime-green shirts each with an oversized letter that, together, spelled out “LEGAL STATUS.” The crowd drowned out the activists with the chant “USA!” Bush promised to pass “meaningful” immigration reform, eliciting more shouts of approval from the crowd. The energy didn’t surprise Mel Martinez, Florida’s first Cuban-American senator.

Jeb is the Cuban candidate. Period. I doubt that other Latinos will continue to be fooled.
