Former child actor Jake Lloyd, who portrayed aspiring podracer Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, was arrested in South Carolina on Wednesday following a police chase the exceeded speeds of 100 miles an hour, the Associated Press reports.
According to authorities, the 26-year-old led deputies on a miles-long chase that began in Charleston, South Carolina and ended in another county entirely when Lloyd crashed his vehicle. From TMZ:
Deputies say Jake began passing cars on the double yellow line and began driving recklessly, at high speeds. Cops say eventually Jake lost control of his car, which ran off the road, through a fence and into a wooded area where it struck several trees.
The fallen padawan now faces charges of resisting arrest, reckless driving, driving without a license and failure to stop for a blue light. As of Sunday, Lloyd reportedly remains behind bars on bonds totaling 10,700 credits.

(6,241 posts)He committed a crime, just like anyone else. He was arrested, facing jail, and thousands of dollars in fines. The only difference between him and any other reckless driver is the notoriety. He's not getting out of the consequences for what he did.
