West Point drummer injured by ax thrown by 'Fox & Friends' co-anchor
Source: Poughkeepsie Journal
A West Point drummer was injured after he was hit by an ax thrown by a Fox & Friends co-host.
The drummer for the United States Military Academy was performing as part of a segment on the show when the anchor, attempting to hit a target, hurled the ax the drummers way, according to the article published on the Daily News website.
The chilling scene did not air on the TV network, but was captured on a witness cellphone and posted on YouTube.
In the YouTube video, the anchor, Pete Hegseth, is seen throwing the ax, but it did not hit the bullseye. Instead, the ax is propelled at West Point drummer, Jeff Prosperie.

(42,885 posts)Did you watch the video? The ax was thrown at a target. It hit the top, flipped over it and hit the drummer who was behind it.
I wouldn't watch Fox if you paid me, but this is a nothing burger story.

(28,552 posts)... probably nothing. Civilly, a large lawsuit with a guaranteed large payout. SOMEONE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR ANOTHER'S INJURY. End of story.
Usually when someone says "charges" they're referring to criminal charges. But I agree that there is a civil action remedy here.

(23,387 posts)Be sure of your target, and what's beyond it.
Written for firearms, still a good rule for archery, slingshot, and apparently, axe-throwing.
Common sense is not so common at Fox.

(14,691 posts)goddamned bad idea. Someone else could have gotten hurt even if the drummers weren't there.

(1,582 posts)and I think they could have cordoned it off properly. This kind of thing reminds me of David Letterman throwing stuff off of the roof so we could watch it crash on the sidewalk below.
Personally, I think the aggressive driving near pedestrians at many intersections the primary danger in that area.
LiberalElite
(14,691 posts)and as for driving & pedestrians - I'm more concerned about the kamikaze cyclists who come from every direction, but that's another story.

(8,175 posts)I mean for real? They have a target set up at the very top of the stand, and then they let untrained people throw axes at it while people are behind it? I don't know what they were thinking.

(3 posts)Dick Cheney has weighed in, and he states the drummer was a clear and present threat to Pete Hegseth. Makes perfect sense to me.
