Cruz: Any Candidate Unwilling To Repeal Obamacare 'Should Step Aside'
Source: TPM
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) told his fellow Republican candidates for President on Thursday that if they still aren't concentrated on wiping out Obamacare, they should drop out of the race.
I have made repeal of this disastrous law a top priority since the first day I arrived in the Senate and have made its repeal central to my campaign," Cruz said in a statement. "Any candidate not willing to do the sameand campaign on it every dayshould step aside," he added.
The rest of the statement was a colorful condemnation of the Supreme Court's "nakedly political" decision to uphold Obamacare's tax subsidies in King v. Burwell.
" C)rocodile tears are flooding our nations capital today over the Supreme Courts decision to illegally rewrite Obamacare, which has been a disaster since its inception," he said. "These robed Houdinis transmogrified a federal exchange into an exchange established by the State,'" Cruz added.

There are people out there who will send their last dime in if it means the killing of a good legacy of the Black man

(12,904 posts)But is this guy really running for President?
Every day I hear news of other candidates holding events, rallies, being interviewed and such. Santorum even held a couple of events where only a couple of people showed up.
But Cruz? I haven't seen much from him. I suspect he doesn't really have the support/money to run for President, and he is just pretending his campaign. Running against something that everyone wants is a loser's game.
So...he needs to just shut up.

(23,203 posts)Don't know who's the bigger ass, him or Trump? They're both total clowns, but think Cruz is by far the more dangerous because he just doesn't care who gets hurt in the wake of his stupid stunts. He's actually part of the government, so is capable of doing lots more harm than Trump. They should be #1 and #2 to exit the clown car with Jindal #3.

(18,470 posts)Joe McCarthy, who ol Rafael resembles in more ways than one.
I do not mean the drinking himself to an early demise part.
Instead the part where McCarthy takes it a little bit too far and winds up getting his ass in trouble with his fellow Senators who respond by censuring him, and the part where everyone ignores him.

(30,790 posts)Walker, is far more dangerous. He is beginning to resemble McCarthy far more than Cruz is.

(523 posts)By declaring that the 2016 Election is actually a referendum on ACA, Cruz has guaranteed that Every voter who is glad to be covered (or who wishes to be covered) by ObamaCare will not vote Republican - and not only for President.

(51,824 posts)With the ACA still in tact, Republicans don't have to figure out how to cover all those millions who would have lost coverage. Now Republicans can heave a big sigh of relief and go back to posturing about the ACA. And posturing is what Cruz is all about.

(26,219 posts)terrified that the SCOTUS would give them the victory.
I admit that there was a part of me that hoped they had. Sadly, in order to fix this for-profit health-insurance scam, we will need a trigger of some sort to justify the outcry for single payer.
For today, I will take the victory and be glad that 6mm people aren't buried in medical bills - 2/3 of which are reportedly Republicans.

So heartwarming to see Republicans consoling themselves over the bad news that thousands of people won't go bankrupt if they get sick.
