WMUR/CNN Poll: Trump moves to within striking distance of GOP leader Bush

Source: WMUR

DURHAM, N.H. — While there is still no clear frontrunner in the chaotic New Hampshire Republican presidential primary field, business executive Donald Trump has surged to within striking distance of the leader, according to a new WMUR/CNN Granite State Poll.

Nine months is an eternity in politics, particularly in late-deciding New Hampshire. And so not surprisingly, the Republican presidential primary field remains crowded with no true frontrunner, according to the latest WMUR Granite State Poll.

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush remains on top, at 16 percent, but Trump, who drew the support of only 5 percent in a Granite State Poll released in early May, has now moved to 11 percent. With the margin of error for the poll, conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center, at 4.9 percent, Trump is virtually in a statistical dead heat with Bush for the top spot.

Trump is followed closely by Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, at 9 percent, and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, at 8 percent. Florida U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio and former business executive Carly Fiorona are each at 6 percent, with Dr. Ben Carson and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 5 percent, former Texas Gov. Rick Perry at 4 percent, Texas U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz at 3 percent, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee at 2 percent and former New York Gov. George Pataki, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and South Carolina U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham at 1 percent each.

BWA-HA-HA-HA!

Yes, the GOP primary voters are really that stupid and out-of-touch. We could be seeing a bigger disaster than Goldwater '64 taking shape for the GOP's general election chances in 2016.

And lest you think it's an outlier poll:

had his or her moment at the top.

Is Trump the flavor of the month, or is he being propelled to the top by a wave of right wing populism?

In a week or two, we should know, but it is a good question to ask now.1

A Trump or Bush nomination would be the best thing to happen to democrat party. The only candidate that has even a chance of taking votes is Paul and I don't see him taking the nomination let alone defeating either Hillary or Sanders.

The good: I couldn't see any of these clowns winning the general election.

The bad: One of these clowns will have a shot at winning the general election.

because he is RICH. Any person that rich has his shit together and would be a good president. He would run the country like a business. He want's everything privatized.
This coming from a retired union guy. He also has one foot in the grave and one on a banana peel, with very shitty health. 100 pounds over weight, smokes, whiskey drunk every other day, no exercise, lots of soda pop and loves donuts. With ZERO health insurance. I told him well, when you have your stroke with privatized hospitals and no Gov. protection like Obama just gave everyone. You will lose everything you own because the private company wants their money first. Not one more word from him. Crickets and I didn't say nothing either.
