Poll: Bush, Trump rising nationally for GOP, but both trail Clinton

Source: CNN

...snip...

Bush stands at 19%, up from 13% in May -- and his best showing in CNN/ORC polling since December. Trump follows at 12%, up from 3% before his announcement. Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (8%), neurosurgeon Ben Carson (7%) and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (7%) round out the top five.

Notably absent from this top five -- though statistically speaking not far behind -- are Florida Sen. Marco Rubio (6%, down from 14% in May) and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (6%, down slightly from 10%). Both had been top five candidates in each of the last two CNN/ORC polls, and Walker had been in the top five since February.

...snip...

On the Democratic side, Hillary Clinton continues to hold all the cards. Nationally, she leads all other candidates by more than 40 points, with 57% of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents behind her, 16% backing Vice President Joe Biden, 14% Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, 2% Jim Webb and 1% or less for former Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley and former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee.

The poll holds better news for Biden than it does for Sanders, who has made gains against Clinton in recent polling in Iowa and New Hampshire. But Biden actually tops the list as national Democrats' second-choice candidate, 35% say he's their second pick, compared with 14% who say Sanders is.

5. The roll of the media is to report.

If it was doing its job, it would weed out the clowns who are unfit to serve as president. As it stands there are upwards of 31 GOP candidates. The number of declared Democratic candidates is about 15. You can cut the numbers in about half based just on name recognition, there are some people that have declared but will never have the resources to mount a national campaign.

If the media was doing it's job, there is no way that Walker would be leading in Iowa. His record of fucking over Wisconsin should be bringing derision instead of support. The media is following St. Ronnie's rule and not speaking ill of a fellow Republican.

What does the media have to do with the number of Democratic candidates? The only clowns on the Dem side are the unknowns that will never get on the primary ballots in all 50 states.

8. Scary that you would draw that conclusion.

The media's job is to report, positives and negatives, not just on the Democratic candidates, but all candidates.

It's up to the individual to decide, based on that information, who deserves to run.

Seriously?

7. Bush Hides, Numbers Rise!

I find it odd (well, not really) that the more Bush keeps quiet the more his numbers rise. Quite telling, isn’t it? I look at Hillary and Bernie and both would have Bush for breakfast, lunch, then spit him out and have him for supper again! Bush is a lightweight.

It is also my opinion that all Republicans are unfit to serve. They are not representing the American people; they are representing a growing-smaller-by-the-day segment of the population that shares their ever-fading visions. Don’t be fooled by them. They are snakes in sheep’s clothing.

What really gets me, though, is how close elections are. I keep thinking we libs should be blowing the doors off every single election and yet the Repubs control both houses of Congress and national elections are usually close no matter what. I know redistricting plays a part, but why do some keep voting for the wingnut party? I just don’t get it.

If you are going to vote for oligarchs' interests, just vote for the oligarch and eliminate the middle man!

But as far as anyone who is not a billionaire voting GOP, you are spot on, Republicans are nuts.

Can you imagine someone winning the Presidency by 15 points? Been a long time since that happened.
