Marco Rubio: Trump's Comments About McCain Disqualify Him From Presidency
Source: The Hill.com & CNN
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said on Sunday that he finds Donald Trumps mockery of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and his time as a prisoner of war absurd, adding that they should disqualify the business mogul from the White House.
The senator said during an interview that he is not surprised by his fellow 2016 GOP presidential candidates insult.
This is not just an insult to John McCain who is a war hero and a great man, it is an insult to all prisoners of war, Rubio told host Jake Tapper on CNNs State of the Union.
It somehow makes the assumption that if you are captured in battle you are not worth of honor, he said. It is not just absurd, it is offensive. This is a man who has spent his whole life saying outrageous things, Rubio added of Trump. This is how he makes a living.
Rubio also argued on Sunday that Trumps taunt of McCain prevents him from getting elected president in 2016. I do think it disqualifies someone for higher office, Rubio said of Trumps comments.Trump shocked listeners by mocking McCains experiences as a prisoner of war in Vietnam during a public appearance on July 18.

(95,337 posts)maybe you aren't a super asshole like Trump but I still do not think you are qualified to be president simply because you would put the 1% first, deny science and take away any rights a woman has to make he own decision for her body. At least with Trump he is honest about being an asshole and tells it like it is. But you Rubio would lie to the public about how you would rub this country just to get elected.

(380 posts)... and the entire Repuke party goes to pieces.
Trump, as a Repuke 1%, has no moral authority to say anything. McCain, as a war criminal who admitted on national television that he bombed innocent women and children, has no moral right to be outraged.

(239 posts)It did not disqualify Bush to republicans in 2000 when his campaign called McCain a traitor and other goodies.

(14,093 posts)and didn't utter a peep with Mitt and Ann-toinette Roney flew to Vegas to accept his endorsement, fundraised with him and commissioned him to make a video for the 2012 GOP convention, all in the aftermath of Trump racist antics.
Nor did he express concern when GOP strategists at FOX News gave Donald a weekly commentary slot on their morning show.
He's yours, Marco. Your party said he was a legitimate voice. You own him.
