President Obama Says Donald Trump Is Not Equipped to Be President
Source: ABC News
President Obama says that Republican front-runner Donald Trump is not equipped to deal with the challenges of being president.
I think that he is not somebody who even within the Republican Party can be considered as equipped to deal with the problems of this office, but look, we live in a democracy," President Obama said in an interview Monday with WMUR, an ABC affiliate in New Hampshire.
If Trump does become the Republican nominee, Obama said he's confident that the Democratic nominee will win in a general election match-up.
"If in fact the Republicans nominate Mr. Trump, then its going to be an interesting fall season," he said. "Im confident that ultimately the Democrat in that circumstance will win.

(1,539 posts)Obama had his 8 years of serving the 1/10th of 1 percent. He should stop trying to influence the election of the next leader.

(3,605 posts)He wants to be the Big Man. He wants to be CEO, sitting in the Trump Office, in the Trump House, in Trump City, in the District of Trump, in the United Trumps of Trump issuing vague orders and have everybody telling him what a genius he is.
And he's not a conservative, not a liberal, not a moderate, he's a Trumpist. He's all over the board. If he thought there were enough cannibals among the voters, he'd promise them missionaries for dinner.

(449 posts)However, there's a huge segment of the population that's anti-whatever-the-president says (out of stupidity or other reasons).
It's going to be an interesting election. I'll be sitting here entirely apathetic to whatever transpires. Both presumptive candidates suck.

(449 posts)Cruz and Trump are dreadful, but they wouldn't do further perceived damage to something I care about (The democratic party). It's just an opinion. In order to protect myself from feelings of intense depression I've let apathy take hold.
Hoping for the best. Good luck, in any event!

(22,651 posts)Republican Party worse and crazier every election. All they "care" about is State level republicans elected. We need to get rid of ALL of them in Congress and Senate.
And get rid of the Local republican gerrymandering and republican local district maps.

(14,180 posts)For many Republicans, this is just another big endorsement for Trump.
Every time a Democrat shouts about how terrible it would be to have Trump as President, he gets a few more votes.
And maybe I'm in the minority, but I have very serious concerns about Trump winning. Not for one reason alone, but for a combination of, yes, the racist, bigoted, "poorly educated", but reality TV watchers, the ones that think he is successful at business so why not?, the independents that are sick of the status quo even if Trump represents an unknown quantity.
Even if it were Bernie running against him, with his double digit lead, the polling would start to even out because of these reasons. But with Hillary now as the projected winner, I see it as a very close race, and one simple bad story here or there could easily tip the scales.
