FBI Interviews Clinton Aides Including Huma Abedin As Part Of Email Probe
Source: CNN
(CNN)Some of Hillary Clinton's closest aides, including her longtime adviser Huma Abedin, have provided interviews to federal investigators, as the FBI probe into the security of her private email server nears completion, U.S. officials briefed on the investigation tell CNN. The investigation is still ongoing, but so far investigators haven't found evidence to prove that Clinton willfully violated the law the U.S. officials say.
In recent weeks, multiple aides have been interviewed -- some more than once, the officials said. A date for an FBI interview of Clinton has not been set, these officials said, but is expected in the coming weeks. Abedin has cooperated with the probe, the officials said. Lawyers for Abedin declined to comment. The officials say the interviews of Clinton and her aides would be a routine part of an investigation like this.
The probe remains focused on the security of the server and the handling of classified information and hasn't expanded to other matters, the officials said. Spokesmen for the FBI and Justice Department declined to comment. The Clinton campaign has not yet responded to CNN's request for comment. David Kendall, an attorney for Clinton, had no comment.
CNN has previously reported that another former Clinton employee, Bryan Pagliano, who helped set up the server has provided documents and other materials as well as interviews to the FBI, under an immunity agreement. FBI officials overseeing the probe now expect to complete their work in the next few weeks and then turn over the findings to the Justice Department, which will make a final decision on whether to bring charges against anyone. Prosecutors from the Justice Department's national security division and from the U.S. Attorney's office in Alexandria, Va., have helped coordinate the FBI probe, closely overseeing investigative steps, the U.S. officials say.

Hillary will be cleared before she is nominated.
No way Obama lets this mess tarnish his record, Hillary is damn lucky there is a D in e White House now. A Republican controlled DOJ would charge her with a slew of felonies.

(92,552 posts)interspersed throughout this thread, that makes Hillary guilty. This is from those who supposedly are supporting the "more liberal" candidate. In other words, they assume guilt, and when the FBI comes out with nothing to indict, those same folks who seem to believe that you are guilty unless you are proven innocent, will come out and say the FBI is covering something up.
In some of these holier than thou posters' eyes, it is guilty whether it is true or not. In fact I have seen posts actually hoping with glee that Hillary is guilty of something. It is irrelevant whether it is true or not.

(24,411 posts)CNN had a basic news story. Clinton's aids have been interviewed. That's the story.
This anonymous quote from an unnamed person--basically declares that the FBI has found that she did nothing wrong. We don't even know where this "US official" works or their title.
So, basically this is a huge leak. Big information--from someone outside of the FBI.
I can't imagine that this makes the FBI too happy, or the DOJ either.
Frankly, I think the big story of the day is---Who is this "US Official"?
I think CNN should be called on the carpet for releasing this article with this unsubstantiated, unsourced quote that positions the entire investigation in a very specific light.
The last time the White House commented very lightly on this investigation, Loretta Lynch was pissed and she publicly told the White House that they should not be commenting on an ongoing investigation.
This "US Official" is obviously someone who is ignoring basic protocol in this FBI investigation; and also the wishes of the FBI and the DOJ, including Loretta Lynch.
Geez, CNN! Do your damn jobs. Report the facts.

(13,326 posts)The fact that interviews are being conducted and that Hillary's has not happened yet is going to cause some real reporters, if there are any left, to snoop around and try to be there when she goes in for her interview. The Clinton campaign does not want that! No cameras desired. This leak is not pleasant for Hillary.
It is also obvious that this is not a "security review". If this were a security review, why would they need to interview people? Would any of her aides know that the server was compromised (hacked)? No. They are interviewed to ascertain who told whom to do what and why.

(24,411 posts)Hillary simply misheard the question about the FBI interviewing her aids--because Hillary was under VERY heavy sniper fire when Andrea Mitchell asked that particular question.
Oh the humanity!

(23,272 posts)I mean, why would Huma bring up being interviewed by the FBI over Hillarys emails and server?
That's just crazy. Of course it wouldn't come up!
