WASHINGTON President Barack Obama presented Omaha Police Officer Coral Walker with the Medal of Valor on Monday for bravery that ended a deadly shooting spree.
Two people were killed and two others were critically wounded in the June 15, 2013, shootings.
A couple of witnesses flagged down Walker and pointed out the gunman, Jorge Abraham Zarazua-Rubio, 25.
Walker ordered Zarazua-Rubio to drop his gun, but instead he opened fire on Walker, with two of his shots striking Walkers cruiser. Walker returned fire, shooting more than 10 times and killing the man, who was in the country illegally.
