(2,338 posts)I live in the DC Metro area. Grandma Virginia is quite a fixture in DC. She volunteers in a local elementary school every day. Recently she made a comment about not being able to vote because a thief stole her wallet and she couldn't replace her ID without a birth certificate. Now, imagine a 107 yr old trying to get a birth certificate from one of the Carolinas without a photO ID. Catch-22.
But, because of her recent "Dancing with The President" moment and her prominent work in the city....someone found a way to get her ID replaced. Not sure exactly how that came about. She is one heckuva woman. Love her.

(10,597 posts)...we need to stop and smell the roses we do find along the way. And what a rose Virginia is! I can tell you right now, I will never make it that far. She has a good liver and a will that won't quit.
Long live Virginia!
