Clinton: Trump Is 'Most Dangerous, Reckless' Presidential Candidate Ever
Source: Talking Points Memo
Hillary Clinton on Monday tore into Donald Trump during an interview with CBS News' Charlie Rose, charging that Trump has "no self-discipline, no self-control, no sense of history, no understanding of the limits of the kind of power that any president should impose upon himself."
She noted that he's called for reinstating waterboarding and would "order the American military to commit war crimes."
"What he has laid out is the most dangerous, reckless approach to being president than I think we've ever seen," Clinton said. Rose asked if Clinton thinks Trump is "the most dangerous man ever to run."
"I believe that," she responded. Clinton said that Trump's message is playing off of Americans fears.

(14,608 posts)Donald Trump has quietly moved back into Barad Dur and is summoning all orcs and other evil creatures to him there. He's raising an army of hatred, bigotry and intolerance.
He says he will 'make America great' but the truth is he will make America hate.

(7,365 posts)is a nationalistic dog whistle for knuckle-draggers and mouth breathers. I am sure you can find plenty of speeches from 1930s Germany talking about how "this element" or "that element" is destroying the fatherland and we need a great man to lead us to greatness.

(449 posts)Politicians have a tendency to overstate things and using qualifiers like 'Most' is a good tip-off that a politician is doing such... But it's really hard to disagree with her assessment given what we've seen.

(9,064 posts)Hillary is going to have to humiliate this toad publicly, perhaps in the debates.
I'm not sure that the conventional tactics are going to work against Trump this round.

curry sympathy and trivialize the political discourse
Hillary is no lightweight and it is really frightening to think her opponent
could bamboozle his way into power.

(7,540 posts)She's telling the truth about Trump being the most "reckless, dangerous" because in his case it's actually true.
Unfortunately specific broad accusations for Trump end up sounding generic like she doesn't have anything specific to nail him on. It's easy to call a political opponent "reckless" and "dangerous" as hyperbole, but with Trump it's *specifically* true.
Kind of the same as when they say "Obama is a Muslim" they're being very specific but to us it's generic and rolls off with no impact.
"Trump is a Sociopath" to them sounds like generic name-calling, despite it being an actual truth, and a very worrisome one.
