Police: Man crashes boat of hunter who killed Cecil the lion
Source: Washington Post
MARCO ISLAND, Fla. Police say a man stole and crashed a boat off southwest Florida that belongs to a Minnesota dentist who killed Cecil the lion while hunting in Africa.
The Naples Daily News ( http://bit.ly/2ajfFsN ) reports 26-year-old Andrew Derwin of Marco Island was arrested on a felony charge of grand theft Tuesday and remains held. Authorities say Derwin took Walter Palmers $61,175 boat from his vacation home Sunday and later crashed it. Derwins passenger, Nicolas Stolinas, was seriously injured, officials say.
Investigators say Derwin took the keys from the home of a neighbor who watches over Palmers home. It wasnt clear where Palmer was at the time.
Records didnt indicate whether Derwin has a lawyer.

So, no big deal.
Still hate that guy.
All trophy hunters are scum.

(17,751 posts)Good DDSs serve 24/7. Most of the good DDSs I know barely make 6 figure incomes, if that.

But, low 6 figures kind of fits what I imagined.
He has his own practice, with one office manager.
No hygienist, no fancy digs, just a little place in a strip mall.
He was really angry about Cecil. Said Palmer gave the entire profession a black eye.

(3,173 posts)My DH is a dentist, one of the kind who went into the profession to serve, not to buy boats and extra houses. Now, if someone grateful for the relief he provided wants to give us one, or the other, I am open to that!

(15,224 posts)It was wrong of the young man to steal the boat.
But it was horrid when Walter Palmer killed Cecil. I'm having a hard time having sympathy for Palmer.
