Romney uses healthcare ruling to motivate voters against Obama
Source: Chicago Tribune
In brief remarks two hours after the Supreme Court upheld President Obamas healthcare reform law, Mitt Romney said he disagreed with the courts decision and used it as a call to arms for Republicans in November.
This is a time of choice for the American people, said a solemn Romney, who stood on the ninth-floor balcony of a Washington, D.C. office building. Behind him loomed the Capitol s west front, where the presumptive GOP nominee would take the oath of office if he wins the presidential election. Our mission is clear. If we want to get rid of Obamacare, we are going to have to replace President Obama. My mission is to make sure we do exactly that.
Affixed to his podium was a sign proclaiming Repeal and Replace Obamacare.

(326 posts)is your plan for replacement . . . what policies or ideas or concepts would you replace it with? Perhaps with what you implemented in MA??? <smh>

Romney Blasts Supreme Court, Calling Healthcare Act 'Worst Idea I Ever Had'
Vows to Repeal Own Law
WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report) Just minutes after the Supreme Court upheld President Obamas Affordable Care Act, Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney slammed the Court, calling the law the worst idea I ever had.
I vow to repeal this law on my first day in office, he told a crowd at a campaign rally. Until then, I will work tirelessly to make people forget that I used to totally love it.
At the White House, President Obama greeted the news of the Courts decision in muted fashion: I havent been this pumped since I smoked bin Laden.
Dissenters in the 5-4 decision included Justice Antonin Scalia, who wrote, The only medical procedures the government should pay for are forced transvaginal ultrasounds and exorcisms.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell also had harsh words for the healthcare law, telling reporters, Under Obamacare, you will be forced to marry a gay doctor.
But perhaps the most negative appraisal came from Speaker of the House John Boehner: "This is a dark day for America. If we are forced to have healthcare, it's only a matter of time before we have education."

(15 posts)A person would have to be kidding himself/herself if they didnt think this was a body blow that sucked the air right out of the conservatives. Just think of the result if it had been struck down, they would be emboldened and doing summersaults. This in no way helps them to motivate anything. They may try and talk like it does, but everyone knows better.
Not matter which way this went the Repukes would find something to cry about and use to scare their feeble constituents.

(634 posts)We should still keep pushing for single payer. I keep thinking that Karl Rove just tricked a million democrats into cheering for an essentially right-wing version of universal health care. Besides, if we are gonna have to go through crap like this all the time, we might as well try to get what we want.
And if we do win in Congress in November, the first Democrat who mentions the word bipartisan gets shipped to Guantanamo.

(884 posts)is to help destroy America. One piece at a time. And to take more than one piece at a time when they are allowed to do so.
We can't let them win the election, or take the election. What do they do NOW? I just see wolves in this.
America is just slowly being dismantled, I hope people see this. It is being turned into Neo-America before your very own eyes, and mine.
Well, some see what Neo-America is... I don't want it.
Meanwhile....The Progression continues....

I just hope Mitt will lose gracefully without a complete breakdown.

(64 posts)President Obama was going to win by double digit percentage points before this. Now he will win by more. He doesn't get it. There is a reason why we elected Barak Obama. There is a reason why we have a majority in the Senate. There is a reason why we will take back the house. We tried it Bush's way and it didn't work. Time to do things our way now.
