Drudge Smears Justice Roberts Over His Seizures
Source: Media Matters
In response to the Supreme Court's ruling in favor of health care reform, the Drudge Report is smearing Chief Justice John Roberts over the possibility that he might use epilepsy medication and suggesting that it affected his judgment.
Drudge linked to a Real Clear Politics post that contains a clip of right-wing radio host Michael Savage claiming that "if you look at Roberts' writings you can see the cognitive disassociation in what he is saying."
Roberts had a seizure in 2007, after suffering one 14 years earlier. The Washington Post reported this month that Roberts has not publicly addressed whether he has epilepsy.
Drudge also linked to a 2007 New York Times report that discussed Roberts' medical options. The article described the side effects of epilepsy drugs, but it has never been reported that Roberts actually takes such medication.

Wonder what Willard thinks of these tactics coming from the media ally he's lauded throughout the campaign?

(1,484 posts)then perhaps the R man will have a complete seizure so that Pres Obama during his second term can appoint someone to replace him. Wouldn't that be sweet? That is the way we will get Citizens United overturned!!! Then Scabula and Thomas can go back to picking their noses for a living because they will be in the minority on the court. And since they are so dead set on politicizing the highest court of the land, I am sure we will find a way to really accommodate them.

(1,484 posts)to equate "wish a grande mal" (whatever that is) with what is merely wishful thinking towards an evil element of our society. Aside from that, I don't think there was anything in my post that encouraged you to do anything, other than read it. It would seem as though you are a bit too quick on the draw (no reference to the DU gun club intended) for someone who has no hidden agenda.
Edit for syntax.

Because that is exactly what you did in your prior post.

(1,484 posts)The word I used was seizure. Nothing more and nothing less. Your having the audacity to try and put words in my mouth speaks badly as to your credibility to engage in intelligent discussion. In addition to that, I believe there was no part of my post which which made any reference at all to *my* having wished anything on anyone.
So what is your hidden agenda, or are you just being real sloppy tonight?

(1,299 posts)I was a Paramedic for 30 years and treated hundreds of people who suffered Grand Mal seizures, it's not a pretty sight. Wishing this on anyone is, in my opinion, distasteful no matter who it's directed toward.

A grand mal - the proper medical term is a tonic-clonic seizure - are a seizure that effects the entire brain. it's a main hallmark of epilepsy.
This is what it looks like, video provided by a sufferer herself;
Play it with the sound so you can hear her choking. Pretty fucking sweet, amirite?
No. I don't care how "evil" someone might be, wishing they'd suffer something like that is just despicable.

(1,484 posts)and you have failed once again (still no reference to the DU gun club intended). But many thanks for your dramatic attempt to put words in my mouth. There are many different kinds of seizures, and your are implying that my post was in reference to that which is apparently your favorite kind. But be my guest. If it pleases you to in your mind elevate the way in which you regard yourself, then go for it.

(1,299 posts)no matter what degree of seizure, is just dispicable. I despise Roberts but I would never wish harm on someone.

(42,870 posts)Your original post was clear in expressing a desire that Roberts suffer a seizure so "complete" that it forced him from the bench.

and by hyping it so heavily, he's fast-tracking it from the fringe of SavageWeinerdom to the mainstream of conservative and Republican talking points.
This will be a common theory among Republicans within 24 hours.

You know what's funny, the majority of his readers will actually believe this nonsense.
They don't want to believe that one of their own cannot see things "their" way.
Drudge won't dare out him though. That would have been the next step for a non-self-loathing homosexual.
