(23,169 posts)Why would he have to lawyer up if he wasn't guilty? And he's already got staff pleading the 5th, which he claimed within the last year is a sure indication of guilt.

Then again, knowing Trump, he's liable to hire and fire a few attorneys as things develop.

(7,645 posts)He might, for instance, tell Trump that if he's not going to follow his advise and stop tweeting, he can just find himself other representation. That's what a prudent attorney would do.
But then it doesn't look like Trump picked the best legal representation for the issues he faces anyway, so ...

wait a minute...I found this on the internet....at a place called google search:
.."Robert Swan Mueller III is an American lawyer and civil servant who was the sixth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving from September 4, 2001, to September 4, 2013"...
Oh no..will a past "Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation" serving for 12 years in that capacity...be afraid of some New York lawyer??? what do you think...

(13,081 posts)this gives me further assurance Mueller's the right man for the job. I hope he'll hire Preet to be on his team as from what i heard on NPR couple days ago there are none in the DOJ and Mueller will need more prosecutorial lawyers on his team as well.

(58,785 posts)is probably very dangerous.
I guess this Russian state-owned bank that rump's attorney is defending isn't the same one Bharara was prosecuting, that was the one based in Cyprus? Can't keep all the rump-associated scum and their institutions and crimes straight.

(562 posts)A typical Trump pick to go for loyalty instead of competence. Kasowitz will get trounced by the mere fact he has no experience in this practice area, and this is the FBI and a team of DOJ prosecutorial lawyers headed by Mueller, not some overpaid corporate blowhard lawyers just doing the minimum to get a big settlement.

(5,586 posts)Yes; you have Rachel talking about it for a few minutes a night, but as long as there are no new developments, the media will cover it less and less.
I believe Trump and his team are convinced collusion isn't a crime, even if it happened. Flynn make take a fall, but that's as high as it goes.

(562 posts)Agree Kasowitz would manage this "dream team" of shitgibbons, who also provide
counsel for "Influencing and Shaping Legislation and Regulation" and "developing business opportunities".
Lieberman is a registered lobbyist like his wife Haddasah, a pharmaceutical lobbyist, which may help explain his being the deciding vote to kill the public option. Meh.

(562 posts)MSNBC and CNN are surging in the ratings while Fox, who doesn't cover it, is now in 3rd place. It generates too much money and interest to just leave it alone, and Trump is obsessed with bringing it up - I don't think he can control that.
He's obviously hiding something big - he went ballistic when he found out the FBI were monitoring his server, wiretapping conversations, etc. He may know the FBI already has evidence of collusion, etc, which is why he's risking obstruction. BTW, Nixon was impeached for obstruction.

I am assuming it is us poor Americans....
Can we suggest a maximum hourly fee that we are willing to pay???
Not saying there will be any collusion between tRump and his honest lawyer....

(36,505 posts)The White House did not respond to requests for comment about how Trump would pay for his outside legal team, the cost of which cannot be covered by the federal government. But campaign finance lawyers said Trump could probably draw funds from his reelection committee to cover legal expenses related to the Russia inquiries, including money donated this year.
Expect the orange anus to do a lot more campaigning in the foreseeable future
