Trump Removes Anthony Scaramucci From Communications Director Role

BREAKING NEWS
President Trump has decided to remove Anthony Scaramucci as communications director, as requested by the new chief of staff, John Kelly
2:35 PM
WASHINGTON President Trump has decided to remove Anthony Scaramucci from his position as communications director, three people close to the decision said Monday, relieving him just days after Mr. Scaramucci unloaded a crude verbal tirade against other senior members of the presidents senior staff.
Mr. Scaramuccis abrupt removal came just 10 days after the wealthy New York financier was brought on to the West Wing staff, a move that convulsed an already chaotic White House and led to the departures of Sean Spicer, the former press secretary, and Reince Priebus, the presidents first chief of staff.
The decision to remove Mr. Scaramucci, who had boasted about reporting directly to the president not the chief of staff, John F. Kelly, came at Mr. Kellys request, the people said. Mr. Kelly made clear to members of the White House staff at a meeting Monday morning that he is in charge.
It was not clear whether Mr. Scaramucci will remain employed at the White House in another position or will leave altogether.

(81,642 posts)I do wonder how long his new Chief of Staff will last. The general is going to expect, or expect to impose - a rather strong and rigid chain-of-command. Getting rid of Scaramucci went more swiftly than I expected. I wonder if Jared and Ivanka will be included in that? I can't imagine they'll be too happy about having to go through somebody to get to Daddy. If push comes to shove, wonder who will be shoved?

(116,100 posts)as long as Scaramucci was the comm director? The article says Kelly didn't want Scaramucci reporting directly to Trump but maybe he didn't want him around at all. I can't imagine a Marine general tolerating the likes of that creep. Now let's see how long Kelly puts up with SCROTUS himself.

(37,648 posts)Trump had asked Kelly several times to take the job, & Kelly refused. For Kelly to accept, and being an orderly general and all, I'm sure he sat down w/Trump and clarified his duties & authority.
Trump is relying on Kelly to bring some order to the W.H., so he's willing to do what Kelly says...for now. Because what's been done so far isn't working.
Good for Kelly that he zeroed in on this vile excuse for a Communications Director.

(51,898 posts)Up to now, we have been blessedly spared from the Trump agenda thanks to Trump's incompetence. If Kelly whips those miscreants into shape, Trump might actually get Trumpcare passed, leaving millions without healthcare and killing tens of thousands of people.
The Velveteen Ocelot
(116,100 posts)Things might settle down for a bit, but if Kelly ever clashes with Jared or Ivanka by objecting to them bypassing him on WH business, or if there's a power struggle vs. Bannon or Miller or any of the other orcs, it will fall apart again. SCROTUS likes chaos and he likes pitting his staff members against each other. To him the WH is just a bigger version of The Apprentice. I don't see Kelly sticking around for very long; either Trump will fire him because of some clash with Jared&Ivanka, or Kelly will quit because Trump won't let him do his job.
LenaBaby61
(6,981 posts)Kelly won't last either. Plus, the things tRumputin wants to get done isn't going to help anyone but himself and the rich. He and thuglicans are on the wrong side of history.
