On Saturday, as President Donald Trump took a tour of the damage of Hurricane Harvey in Texas, he paid a compliment to the U.S. Coast Guard while taking a left-handed jab at the media.
According to The Hill, the president said, “I hear the Coast Guard saved 11,000 people” to a crowd of Coast Guard and other first responders at Houston’s Ellington Field Joint Reserve Base.
“Think of it, almost 11,000 people by going into winds that the media would not go into,” Trump went on before gesturing toward the assembled media personnel covering the event.
“They will not go into those winds, unless it’s a really good story,” he said, not letting the fact that he was purportedly on a relief mission get in the way of a chance to address a petty gripe or perceived slight.
Huffington Post’s Andy Campbell — who flew with a Coast Guard rescue unit on a mission to save 33 critically ill children — responded, “We were literally on the helicopter with them.”

I spent literally all last week streaming local Houston stations and pretty much settled on their KTRK (ABC 13) station, and not only did they have their own local reporters on citizen, municipal, and federal boats, in high-profile trucks trying to navigate the high water, and in blackhawks performing hundreds of rescue sorties, there were also a number of affiliate reporters from all over the country (at least the ABC ones including someone from here in Philly) helping that station by doing the same on their behalf, and who fanned across that vast area to provide coverage on the scope of the disaster.
How the hell did they think the nation "saw" what was going on down there unless there was some soaked reporter & camera operator on the scene? And that was just the broadcast ones. I expect print ones were very much there as well. 
Please Congress, get rid of this idjit.
