"We know it doesn't work. We just use it to trick gullible criminals who think it works into giving confessions."

Polygraph operators always start by trying to convince the subject that the machines are nearly perfect at detecting lies and then convincing them that it will go easier for them if they confess before the questioning rather than get caught lying.

All polygraphs can do is detect stress. The incredibly bad logic of this pseudoscience is the hypothesis that the stress is caused by lying. Truth-tellers can flunk the test just because they are stressed out that the machine will falsely indicate they're lying on a critical question -- a self-fulfilling prophesy -- while liars who are completely unflappable can easily pass.

But then liars tend to believe everyone around them is a liar as well. It would be good if he started with himself.

Where does this little runt get his ideas? The Supreme Court has already ruled that courts can ignore these highly suspect tests... what's next - phrenology?

Let's start at the top, and ask Sessions a few questions like, "have you ever accepted money from foreign sources? Have you ever used a foreign country or been asked by a foreign country to influence or otherwise alter a federal election? Have you ever been a member of or spoken at an event held by white supremacists? Are you still a member of the Klan? Have you ever consumed alcohol or any other mind altering substances?
