Protesters disrupt James Comey's Howard University convocation speech

By LOUIS NELSON and MATTHEW NUSSBAUM 09/22/2017 12:20 PM EDT

Protesters sought to shout down former FBI Director Jim Comeys remarks at Howard Universitys convocation address Friday morning, singing and chanting nearly continuously throughout his speech. ... Roughly 20 protesters seated near the back of Howards auditorium stood with raised fists and began singing We Shall not be Moved as Comey stepped to the lectern and thanked the universitys president. The group ran through multiple other chants, including no justice, no peace, "f*** Jim Comey" and get out Jim Comey, youre not our homie, prompting the former FBI chief to stand silently at the microphone, delaying the start of his remarks.

At one point, Comey sought to quiet the protesters by saying that I hope youll stay to listen to what I have to say, and I just listened to you for five minutes. The effort was unsuccessful, and after several more minutes of waiting out the protesters, Comey offered his speech as the chants and slogans continued to pour from the back of the auditorium.

I love the enthusiasm of the young folks, I just wish they would understand what a conversation is. A conversation is where you speak and I listen, and then I speak and you listen, the former FBI director said. And then we go back and forth and back and forth. And at the end of a conversation, we're both smarter. I am here at Howard to try to get smarter, to try to be useful."
....

Comey has taken on the role as endowed chair in public policy at Howard for the 2017-18 school year, and will deliver a series of lectures. ... He is donating his $100,000 salary to a scholarship for students who came to the school from foster care.

But it was too close to the election to mention Trump's ties to Red Square.

way too much. He along with his friends Trump, Pence, and the New York FBI fascists should all be in some Federal Prison. There, they can speak as much as they damn well please!

Quick easy close-by job (at a historically black college of all places, after ensuring that someone who hated blacks became President).

Comey “represents an institution diametrically opposed to the interests of black people domestically and abroad. While his tenure at the FBI has finished, his impact on our community remains.”

In particular, they faulted him with propagating what some officials have called “the Ferguson effect” — a theory that the rise in violent crime is due to police being fearful of facing public criticism for being too violent, and therefore avoiding confrontations with criminals.https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/protesters-disrupt-former-fbi-director-comeys-speech-at-howard-university/2017/09/22/ae75d1c8-9fae-11e7-9c8d-cf053ff30921_story.html?utm_term=.bab7d27ff86d

FBI has always been suppressive of Black political movements, Peace movements, Student movements. Look what they did to MLK.

The problem with the injustice in our police departments nationwide flows from the Head.

him not letting those secret dinner meet-ups with trump remain secret & documenting what trump said, and telling others like sessions and us the general public about what trump tried to do-..IMO was a good thing & something Comey didn't have to do at all.

He could have lied for Republicans and their president very easily-like so many others have.
