During a contentious interview with CNNs Chris Cuomo Tuesday morning, former President Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski defended the Presidents son for communicating with Wikileaks during the 2016 campaign.
Don Jr. is a private citizen, can tweet or retweet anything he wants to and doesnt have a material effect on the outcome of the campaign, and he has the privilege to do that, he said on CNNs New Day.
Ive never communicated with Wikileaks
and I cant speak to what someone else is doing, why they tweeted or retweeted something they were asked to do, he said. Everything I would say would be speculation as to why Don Jr. did it. We dont have the full context. Lets give him an opportunity to come out and articulate what happened to why he tweeted or retweeted something.
Lewandowskis remarks come after news broke Monday that Donald Trump Jr. exchanged private messages with Wikileaks during the 2016 campaign. While many of the messages sent to Trump Jr.s Twitter account went unanswered, he did occasionally respond and appeared to act on some of Wikileaks requests, according to a report from the Atlantic.

Very strange, and most assuredly a lie.

(6,126 posts)In terms of breaking US election laws, Assange is Sustraluan and Wikileaks is certainly not US. That would make it illegal, even without Russian involvement.

(34,139 posts)As are most Republicans. They don't know what most people know because they chose to not know. And if they ever knew, they have forgotten that they ever knew anything.
Someone should do a study about this deliberate ignorance similar to the DunningKruger one about stupidity.

(2,050 posts)You have to start with people who have a least a certain level of competence, these traitors thought they'd get away with it but what's that saying? " you rise upward to the point where your level of incompetence is exposed" or something like that.
Notice how it's all about lying to defend their actions now, never admitting they were way beyond their depth to attempt what they did in the first place.
It's as though they're apologizing for being so stupid that they got caught so easily, "the dog ate my homework" excuse taken to extremes.
They are going down Bigly.
